Army operation if Taliban talks fail: Irfan Siddiqi
LAHORE - Prime Minister's special adviser and member of government's negotiating team Irfan Siddiqi said the doors for talks were not completely closed, saying that it’s good if talks can resolve issues otherwise military forces will conduct operation.Talking to Dunya News, Irfan Siddiqi said the talks faced delay, adding that talks will only be held with those interested in dialogue process while action will be taken against those involved in violent activities.
The negotiator said the policy of government was clear, adding that the same message was sent to Taliban from all front and backdoors.
PM’s special adviser also maintained that the Taliban will have to announce unconditional ceasefire to resume stalled talks.
Irfan Siddiqi said the government cannot tolerate more incidents of terrorism. He said state writ would be reestablished in all regions of Pakistan.
